- Obituary:
Rayne - Funeral services for Wilbert "Bud" "Slim" Clement, 88, of Rayne will be held on Friday, March 8, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. in Duhon Funeral Home Chapel, Rayne. Deacon Tommy Adams will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery #2, Rayne.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2013 from 11:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. in Duhon Funeral Home, Rayne, with a rosary being recited at 6:00 P.M. Visitation will continue on Friday from 8:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home.
Mr. Clement passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 9:19 P.M. in a Lafayette hospital.
A native and lifelong resident of Rayne, Mr. Clement was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for valor while serving in Burma.
Mr. Clement was a member of American Legion Arceneaux Post #77. He retired from Weatherford-Lamb after many years in the oilfield. He enjoyed gardening, reading (especially westerns), and he loved spending time at Holly Beach. His greatest joy in life was spending time with and caring for his family. He was a loving father and a devoted family man.
Survivors include his daughter, Betty Jo Constantine and husband, Darrell of Duson; sons, Ronald Clement, Sr. of Rayne, Mark A. Clement and wife, Mary of Mire, and Gregory Clement, Sr. of Rayne; grandchildren, Lynnette Comeaux and husband, Jay of Rayne, Ronald Clement, Jr. of Rayne, Crystal Reaux of St. Martinville, Shawn A. Clement and wife, Jenna of San Antonio, TX, Jamie Lopez of Rayne, Gregory Paul Clement, Jr. of Rayne, and Autumn Clement of Rayne; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by his loving dog, Coco.
Preceding Mr. Clement in death were his parents, Beauregard and Aurelia Credeur Clement; son, Michael D. Clement; sister, Renola Bourque; and brother, Wilson Clement.
