      LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held Monday at a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculata Chapel, 1408 Carmel Drive, for the Rev. Lloyd P. Hebert, 75, who died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004, at the Marino Valley Hospital in Beaumont, Calif.

      Interment will be in the St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery in Abbeville. The Most Reverend Michael Jarrell, D.D., Bishop of Lafayette, will conduct the Funeral Mass. The Homily will be given by the Rev. Keith Derouen, Rector of the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist.

      Survivors include one sister, Mr. and Mrs. James Sandoz of New Iberia; and one brother, Mr. and Mrs. L.J. Hebert of Abbeville.

      He was preceded in death by his parents, Ebrard and Bertha Clement Hebert.

      Rev. Hebert was a native of Abbeville and a resident of Cherry Valley, Calif. He entered St. John's Seminary in Arkansas and then went on to St. Mary's Seminary in Kentucky. He was ordained to the priesthood in Abbeville on June 1, 1957. Rev. Hebert served as Associate Pastor at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Lake Charles, St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Gueydan and St. Peter Catholic Church in New Iberia. He also served as Pastor of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Big Lake and Our Lady, Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas. Rev. Hebert resigned from active ministry on May 25, 1985.

      A rosary will be prayed today at 7 p.m. in the Martin & Castille Funeral Home. Visiting hours will be observed today at the Martin & Castille Funeral Home from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Monday at the Immaculata Chapel from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass. Arrangements have been entrusted to Martin & Castille Funeral Home, Inc. of Lafayette.
