John Peebles Rites Set; Steel Exec
Services for John L. Peebles, 68, for 10 years vice-president and general manager of Markle Steel Co., will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Geo. H. Lewis & Sons Chapel, 2530 Sage Rd.
Peebles, of 3029 Bluebonnet, died Monday of a pulmonary embolism at Hermann Hospital.
A resident of Houston since 1933, Peebles was president and general manager of Peden Iron & Steel Co. until 1951. He went into semiretirement. He joined Markle in 1961.
Peebles is survived by his wife, Mrs. Missie Warfield Peebles; a daughter, Miss Jane Lauren Peebles, both of Houston; and two brothers, A. C. Peebles of Pasadena and Dick Peebles of Cleveland.
