McBride Funeral Is Held Wednesday
Funeral services for Henry McBride, 63 years of age, who died suddenly in a Port Arthur, Texas hospital following an illness of only a few hours duration at 7 P. M Tuesday, May 17, were held on Wednesday, May 18, from St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne.
Mr. McBride was fatally stricken during the late afternoon Tuesday and was rushed to a Port Arthur hospital where he died a short while after. The remains were returned to Rayne in a Gossen & Privat funeral coach, and lay in state at the local Funeral Home until the hour set for the funeral, 5 o'clock Wednesday afternoon.
Rev. Father L. C. Habetz officiated during the services at St Joseph's Church and also at the cemetery.
Mr. McBride, a native of Rayne had made his home away from here for much of the time in late years, but returned for frequent visits with his family and friends A registered pharmacist, he had been in the employ of a large drug store in San Antonio, Texas, for a number of years, later making his home in Port Arthur.
Mr. McBride is survived by one son, Lynn McBride of Combs, Texas and two sisters, Mrs. Jos. Privat and Miss Ella McBride: three brothers, Andrus, Walter and E. S McBride all of this city
