Notes - Obituary:
Services for Mr. Carl Francis Byers, 65, will be at 4:00 p.m. Mon., July 6 at the Zwolle First Methodist Church with Rev. Raymond De Laughter, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Zwolle Cemetery with Masonic graveside rites.
Mr. Byers died Sat., July 4 as a result of a drowning in Zwolle.
He was a former Chief Petty Officer in the Navy during WWII, and was the rural mail carrier in Zwolle for the past 28 years. He was the Past Master of Zwolle Lodge No. 302. He was a member of the Eastern Star, member of the First Methodist Church of Zwolle and a member of the building committee during the construction of the new First Methodist building.
He is survived by his wife: Helen Byers, Zwolle; two sons: Lloyd Byers, Shreveport and Don Byers, Zwolle; three daughters; Sherry Capley, Nashville, Tenn., Rhonda Byers, Atlanta, Ga., and Anna Sepulvado, Zwolle; three brothers: Fred, Homer and Burton Byers, all of Shreveport; three sisters: Mrs. Blanche Jergenson and Mrs. Dorothy Wilson, both of Shreveport, and Mrs. Ruth Taylor, Dinuba, Ca., and two grandchildren: Wendy Lynn Byers and Justin Carl Byers, Shreveport.
