      HENRY LYNN MCBRIDE

      Henry Lynn McBride, 65, a Brownsville resident for 26 years, died Friday at 7 a.m. at Mercy Hospital. McBride had been a Valley resident for 40 years and was born in Port Arthur.

      McBride was the owner of the Delta Refining Company in Donna and was prominent in oil affairs for many years. He was past president of the Kiwanis Club, member of the American Petroleum Institute, and the Valley Planning Board. He was named the outstanding Man of the Year in the Valley in 1949.

      He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jan McBride, a son, H. Lynn McBride Jr.; three daughters, Janet McBride of Brownsville, Mrs. E. L. Rhodes of Houston and Mrs. Gary Fogarty of Dallas; his mother, Mrs. Mrs. J. F. Walden of Edcouch, and a grandson, Bill Rhodes of Houston.

      Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Darling Mouser Funeral Home by the Rev. J. Rufus Stewart.

      Pallbearers will be L. William Long, Milton J. White, Dougla Earley, Royce Calloway, Scot Campbell of Raymondville and Teo Hazelwood of Olmito.

      Honorary pallbearers will be E. B. Roberts, Frank Yturria, Jack Moser, Ruben Welsh, E. Wayne Wilson, Manuel E. Sanchez, Lloyd Sternburg, Harry Hollond, C. L. Spacek, James I. George, J. C. George, M.D., W. O. Roberson, Jack Skaggs, Nestor Scanian, M.D., J. C. Looney, Jack McGinnis, Elmer Walk, and Will Love Hardee.

      Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.

      Memorial donations are being directed to the Brownsville Society for Crippled Children. Memorial fund of the Church of the Advent, Episcopal, or the charity of the donor's choice.
