      Gregory McBride

      Services Here Friday For Greg McBride

      Funeral services for Gregory McBride, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney McBride, of Rayne, were held Friday at 3 p.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church.

      Young McBride lost his life in an automobile accident in Baton Rouge late Wednesday, his untimely death coming as a shock and sorrow to his family and friends here.

      Rev. Benoit Drapeau, C.J.M., pastor of St. Joseph Church. officiated at the Friday afternoon services, providing beautiful Scriptures readings and much of consolation in his Homily. Music for the Mass was provided by Herbert J. Hebert as organist and soloist, with "Alleluia", "The Battle's Won, as the processional. "Nearer My God To Thee", "The Lord's Prayer", "How Great Thou Art", during the Mass, and as the recessional "Just A Closer Walk With Thee".

      Interment followed in the St. Joseph Cemetery, with six of Greg's cousins and close friends serving as pallbearers, including Robert Thibodeaux, Gary Smith, Brian McBride, David LeLeux, Michael Benoit and Martin Melancon

      Gossen Funeral Home directed arrangements.

      Born and reared in Rayne, Greg attended local schools. and was popular with a large circle of family members and friends.

      He is survived by his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Sidney McBride of Rayne: three brothers, Stephen. John and Sidney McBride, Jr., all of Rayne; two sisters, Janet and Louise, both of Rayne; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. E.S. McBride, Sr., and his maternal grandfather, Ophie Benoit. Sr., both of Rayne.

      To Sidney and Isabel, and all the family so grieved by this loss, we extend our most sincere sympathy.

      RAYNE, La. - Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in the St. Joseph Catholic Church for Gregory Neil McBride, 20, who was fatally injured in an accident in Baton Rouge. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery.

      Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sidney McBride Sr. of Rayne; three brothers, Steven McBride, Sidney McBride Jr., and John McBride all of Rayne; two sisters, Louise McBride and Janet McBride both of Rayne; paternal grandmother Mrs. E.S. McBride Sr. of Rayne; and maternal grandfather, Ophie Benoit Jr. of Rayne.

      Funeral services for Gregory McBride, age 20, were held Friday at 3 p.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Gregory is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney McBride, of Rayne.

      Losing his life in an automobile accident in Baton Rouge last Wednesday, his death came as a shock to his family and friends here.

      Born and reared in Rayne, Greg attended local schools and was well known in the area.

      Rev. Benoit Drapeau, C.J.M., officiated during the funeral services with pallbearers being Greg's cousins and friends, Robert Thibodaux, Gary Smith, Brian McBride, David LeLeux, Michael Benoit and Martin Melancon.

      The Gossen Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
