  Obituary: Willa Mae McBride Robert, age 88, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2009, at a local hospital. Ms. Robert was born in Rayne, LA, on March 22, 1921. She lived in Lake Charles for over 70 years. She retired from The Fair Department Store after 40 years of exemplary service. Ms. Robert was loved and respected by her colleagues and customers. She was a member of St. Margaret's Catholic Church. Preceding her in death was her husband, Freddie Robert. She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Julian Robert and wife, Deborah, of Baton Rouge and Paul Wayne Robert and wife, Kate of Lake Charles; one brother, Bill McBride of Lake Charles; one sister, Joyce Landry of Lake Charles; 5 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2009, at Johnson Funeral Home. Rev. Jody Robert, her grandson, will officiate. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 19, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and again on Thursday, from 8 a.m. until time of service. A scripture and memory service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday evening. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society in Willa Mae Robert's memory.
