  Obituary: GROVES - Joseph "Eddy" Champagne, 87, of Groves died Monday at St. Mary Hospital. He was born in Erath, La., and was a Port Arthur-Groves area resident since 1912. He was a retired welder boilermaker with Chevron. He was a member of the AFL-CIO and Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers Local 4-23. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Groves with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. A wake is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Vidrine of Groves; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
