  Obituary: Services Pending For Burkhalter Funeral services are pending at the Memorial Funeral Chapel for W. D. Burkhalter of 2908 Montana, who died early this morning at his home. He was born in Wellborn Aug. 23, 1903. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Clara Burkhalter of Bryan, two sons, Billy and Lanny Burkhalter of Bryan, one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Slama of Bryan, two grandchildren, one brother, I. C. Burkhalter of Bryan, and three-sisters, Mrs. Aline Belt, Mrs. Barbara Easton and Mrs. Kate Reedy, all of Houston. (Published in The Bryan Daily Eagle on September 25, 1961) Obituary: W. D. Burkhalter Funeral Today Funeral services for W. D. Burkhalter, 58, were held at 3 PM Tuesday at Memorial Funeral Chapel. Rev. Maurice McElroy, former pastor of the Second Baptist Church in College Station, officiated. Burial was in Wellborn Cemetery with the following nephews serving as pallbearers: Sam German, Fletcher German, Searcy German, Norton D. Burkhalter, M. T. Reedy Jr., and Otis Robertson.
