    • Obituary:

Don Louis Godeau, age 66 was called home to be with his heavenly Father on Thursday, June 27, 2002.

Born July 25, 1935 in Eunice, Louisiana. He spent his boyhood in Port Arthur, Texas and graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1954.

Don loved his career as a shipbuilder and for many years he managed Mangone Shipyard in Houston. Failing health forced his retirement earlier this year from Martin Gas Corp. for whom he worked in Corpus Christi, Texas.

He and his wife, Jere recently moved to Brenham where they joined the fellowship of believers at the First Baptist Church. Don's love for the Lord was manifest through various ministries, including prison ministry and pastoring the First Bapt. Church of Ozona.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by a daughter, Jodi Morrison and her husband, Victor, who are foreign missionaries. A step-daughter, JoBeth Zollman and her husband, Barry. His son, Randy Godeau and wife Karen of Friendswood, Texas. He is also survived by his sister, Ruby LeBlanc and her husband, T.J. of Port Arthur, Texas and six grandchildren whom he loved dearly.

Visitation will begin Sunday 12:00 noon until 9:00 p.m. at the Memorial Oaks Funeral Home in Brenham, Texas. Services will be held Monday, July 1, 2002 at 12:00 noon in the Chapel, 1306 West Main St., Brenham, Texas 77833.

Gifts of love in Don's memory may be made to the Foreign Missions Fund at First Baptist Church of Brenham, Texas, 303 N. Market St. or the charity of your choice.
