Pierre Johnson
Funeral services will be held in St. Genevieve Church at 11:30 a.m. Saturday for Pierre O. Johnson, 78, who died in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital after a brief illness at 11:20 a.m. Thursday.
Interment will be in Sacred Heart Mausoleum, Broussard.
A rosary will be recited at 7:30 tonight at the funeral home.
Survivors include one brother, Arthur Johnson of Dallas, Tex.; two sisters, Mrs. Sazan Melancon and Miss Sadalise Johnson, both of New Iberia.
Mr. Johnson, a native of Cecilia and a resident of Lafayette for the past 25 years, was a retired shop foreman of the Esso Standard Oil and Refinery of Baton Rouge. While in Lafayette he was employed in the Lafayette Department of Public Works.
Mr. Johnson was a member of the Father Teurlings Knights of Columbus Council No. 3202 and the 4th Degree Bishop Dubourg Assembly, and member of the Lafayette Hobo Fire Department. He was a member of the St. Genevieve Usher Society.
Visiting hours have been requested to 10 tonight and from 8 a.m. to time for religious services Saturday.
Marin and Castille Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
