Notes - Obituary:
John Daigle
Funeral Services were held at Martin and Castille chapel at a 2 p.m. Mass today for John Daigle, 62, who died at his residence in Lafayette.
Interment was in the St. Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville.
Survivors include his daughter, Laura Anne Daigle of Baton Rouge; six brothers, Charles M. and Richard A., both of El Paso, Texas, James J. and Brother Thomas M. Daigle, F.S.C., both of Lafayette, Frank V. Daigle of New Orleans and Jack Daigle of Cadsbury, Md.; one sister, Mrs. Leo "Mary" Borel of Austin, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Eurella Marks and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Daigle.
A native of Lafayette, a former resident of Opelousas and a resident of Lafayette for the past nine years, Mr. Daigle was the son of the late Frank Daigle and Laura LeBlanc. He was a 1936 graduate of Cathedral High School and a 1953 graduate of the University of Southwestern Louisiana, formerly S.L.I., with a degree in Education. He was a teacher and boxing coach at Sunset High School. He also taught at Washington High School. Mr. Daigle was a teacher at the Prairie Rone Elementary School and the acting principal there for two years. He was last employed at the Lawtell High School for the remainder of his teaching career when he retired in 1971. He was a veteran of World War II having served with the Navy with six years of service.
Martin and Castille Funeral Home in Lafayette was in charge of Arrangements.

Funeral services were held at Martin and Castill chapel at a 2 p.m. Mass Monday for John Harry Daigle, 62, who died at his residence in Lafayette.
Interment was in St. Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville.
Services were conducted by the Rev. Whitney LeBlanc, chaplin of the De La Salle Christian Brothers. Committal services were conducted by LeBlanc and Rev. Austin Leger, pastor of St. Francis Regis Church in Arnaudville.
Organist and soloist for the funeral Mass were Mrs. Arthur Randol and Mrs. Ramona Carmichael. Musical selections were: "How Great Thou Art," "The Lord's Prayer" and "The Battle Hymn of the Republic."
Pallbearers were Jack W. Daigle, James J. Daigle, Juan Daigle, Richard A. Daigle, Charles M. Daigle and Brother John Chmelik, F.S.C.
Martin and Castille Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
