    • Obituary:

      Jana Lee McCollom Puente of Poteet (formally of San Antonio) passed away Thursday January 23, 2003 at the age of 48 years. She was born January 3, 1955 in San Antonio, TX.

      She fought a long and courageous battle with cancer. Her family was with her at her bedside.

      She started working at H.E.B. as a bagger and worked her way up to Manager in charge. She loved her work and the employees she worked with. She always came home and bragged about how everyone did there job and the people they waited on. She enjoyed the BBQ she and her husband would have at there home with their family and friends.

      We want to thank all the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Methodist Hospital. They were so wonderful and caring during her stay and also a big thanks to Dr. Allison Garner for the loving support and being there for her. In addition, the staff and nurses at the cancer center. Becky, a big thanks to you too.

      Jana was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Thelma and Herbert Lewis.

      She is survived by her husband, Henry Puente; stepson, Kris Puente of Poteet, TX; mother, Yvonne Dukes and husband Le Roy; father, Thomas McCollom Sr. and wife Linda of Tatum, TX; sons, Lawrence P. LeBlanc Jr. and wife Theresa; daughters, Mindy Bolado and husband Michael of Floresville, TX and Ravin Lee Ramirez of Poteet, TX; sisters, Mignon Monteith and husband Billy of Poteet, TX, April Leath and husband Steve of Henderson, TX, Rachael McCollom of Tatum TX; brother, Thomas McCollom, Jr. and wife Jackie; grandchildren, Winona Lee Keller, Catherine Marie Bolado and Lawrence Le Blanc III; numerous nieces and nephews; a very special and close, dear friends, Donna Peoples and Judi Price and a host of friends who will miss her and love her terribly.

      In lieu of flowers, give to the National Cancer Society or to the charity of your choice.

      Visitation will begin on Sunday January 26, 2003 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South with Prayer Service to be held at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 26, 2003, Visitation will be all day. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, January 27, 2003, at the funeral home.

      Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park. Arrangements with Mission Park Funeral Chapels South.
