Notes - Obituary:
Funeral services for B. Lawrence "Toby" Gautreaux, 27, of 823 Rose Ann St., Opelousas, were held at 4 p.m. Saturday at St. Landry Catholic Church. Burial was in Bellevue Memorial Park under direction of the First National Funeral Home.
Gautreaux was electrocuted Friday morning in an accident at United Packers, Dr. A.E. Williams, St. Landry Parish coroner, said.
Gautreaux suffered an electric shock about 10:45 a.m. at the plant. He was pronounced dead two hours later at St. Landry Clinic.
James Pitre, manager of United Packers, said the accident occurred while Gautreaux was on a ladder working on wiring in one of the canning rooms at the plant.
Gautreaux is survived by his widow, the former Jeralyn Reed, and one daughter, Sonia Kay Gautreaux, both of Opelousas; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Laurent Gautreaux; and two sisters, Mrs. Harold Ray of Opelousas and Mrs. Edmon Thibodeaux of Houma.
