Services for J.E. Brown, age 84, were at the Seymour Church of Christ with A.B. Martin officiating. Interment was in the Riverview Cemetery under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Brown was a lifelong resident of Baylor County.
John Erwin Brown married Alma Nix on January 24, 1942 in Seymour, Texas. She preceded him in death on August 26, 1992.
He then married Viola Casey on February 14, 1993 in Seymour.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and a member of the Church of Christ. He was a tractor mechanic for Wesley Harrison and Moody Johnson, and had farmed since the early 1960s.
He is survived by his wife, Viola of Seymour, Texas; by two sons, Ron Brown of Burkburnett, Texas, and Wayne Brown of McKinney, Texas; by three sisters, Glenna Mills of Houston, Texas, Jane Laxson of Franklin, Texas, and Louise Ridgeway of Dallas, Texas; by one brother, Foster Brown of Young County, Texas; by four grandchildren, Melissa Brown, Christina Rippentrop, Joy Ringwood and Daniel Brown; and by four great grandchildren, Marissa Ringwood, McKenzie Ringwood, Justin Rippentrop and Carson Rippentrop.
J.E. is also survived by Viola's children, Barbara Cook and Sharon Heim, both of Seymour, Texas, Jimmy Wooten of Weatherford, Texas, and Ricky Wooten of Fort Worth, Texas, 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
