  Obituary: Janis Darlene Vickers, 71, of Decatur died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, in Decatur. Funeral is 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, at the Church of Christ in Decatur with Rick Ross officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur. Pallbearers are B.D. Lowe, Doyle Lowe, Derry Jones, Lyle Jones, Bob Hussey, Willard Howell and Kevin Downe. Janis was born Dec. 6, 1941, in Seymour to Maudie Wilson. She was a homemaker and a beautician, who loved gardening, boating and collecting. She was a member of Decatur Church of Christ. Janis was preceded in death by her mother; and grandmother Cora Smith. She is survived by her husband, Melvin Lester Vickers; sons Keith Vickers and wife, Donna, and Jason Vickers and wife, Jennifer; and grandson Jackson Vickers.
