  Obituary: Lillie McNew BIG SPRING - Lillie "Ruth" McNew, 84, of Luther died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, in a local hospital. Service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Baptist Church with burial in Mount Olive Cemetery. Arrangements are by Myers & Smith Funeral Home. She was born Nov. 29, 1916, in Hamilton. She was a homemaker, a Baptist and a member of Rebekah Lodge. Survivors include her husband, R.X. McNew of Luther; three sons, Rex McNew of Gonzales, Bobby McNew of Navasota and Billy McNew of Athens; five daughters, Joy Howland of Big Spring, Jean Crowder of Navasota, Carolyn Rodgers of Big Spring, Sharron Husson of Sassy and Barbara Clark of Coahoma; a sister, Cora Lee Jernigan of Abilene; 26 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
