  Obituary: ODESSA - Daniel Eugene "Danny" High, 65, of Odessa, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born September 2, 1943, in Seagraves, Texas, to Bernice Homer and Etta Mae (Bryant) High. He was a retired peace officer for Odessa. He married Alva Jeanette Titsworth on May 28, 1965, in Odessa. He is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Homer Neal, James Donald, Teddy Dwayne and Kenneth Joel High; three sisters, Maggie Bertron, Marie Barnes and Juanita Terserek. He is survived by his wife, Alva Jeanette High of Odessa; sons, Dwayne High and wife Leah of Clyde, Texas, Daniel High Jr., and wife Cynthia of Odessa; daughter, Kelley Alvarado and husband Leon of Abilene; sister, EmaJon Mayfield and husband Richard of Odessa; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Also numerous nephews, nieces and friends. Family will receive visitors from 6 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, at the Seagraves Cemetery in Seagraves with the Rev. Don Fankhauser and Ronnie Kinney officiating. Pallbearers will be Tony High, Rene Quiroz, Mike Stotts, Jackey Bond, Thomas Cuellar and Mark Garcia. Honorary pallbearers are Vic Cuellar, Fred Price and Harold Salmon.
