Janice Arnett Thurston
Jan Thurston, 73, of Bedford Park entered eternal life on February 4, 2016 in Florida.
Born December 18, 1942 in Oklahoma to Virgil and Fay Arnett. She graduated from Argo Community High School in 1960. She served as a library trustee for the Bedford Park Public Library for 42 years. Jan was a loyal and dedicated employee of the Bedford Park District for 40 years and after retiring from full-time employment, she remained active working part-time as the Senior Coordinator.
Jan's kindness and friendship to all she met was an inspiration to many. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
Loving mother to Mark (Dianne) and John D (Kristin), preceded in death by her husband John "Thirst" Thurston. Dear grandmother to Mark (Whitney), Justin (Katie), Phillip, Jeremy, Jonathan and Zachary. Great grandmother to Emma, Brennan, Kaden, Tegan, and Noah.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, February 19, 2016 at 5:00PM at the Bedford Park District Community Building. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Jan Thurston Memorial Fund/Bedford Park District for the development of a bird sanctuary in her memory are encouraged by the family.
