    • Obituary:

      Jason R. Gitchel of Bay City passed away suddenly on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011 in Tillamook at the age of 38.

      Jason was born Feb. 16, 1973 in San Diego, Calif. to Jerry Gitchel and Sandi (McDonald) Jones.

      Jason is a 1991 graduate of Neah-Kah-Nie High School. He married Karin Carambot in September 2002. After years of industrial work on trucks and machines, Jason found his niche working in technology and service at Radio Shack. He loved being of service and helping people learn how to use technology. In his free time, Jason filled his life with many activities including, playing guitar, ham radio, being sidekick "Walrus" on the radio, hiking, camping, surfing, photography, walking the ocean shores, fixing cars and TVs. He was an avid San Diego Chargers Fan, he loved spending time with family and friends and those he loved.

      Jason gave everything to help someone else, his kindness reached to everyone. He always put the needs of others first, because he cared for so many.

      Jason is survived by his wife, Karin Gitchel, of Bay City;

      his parents, Cathy Rivers of Marlborough, Mass., Sandi Jones of Payette, ID., and Jerry Gitchel of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two brothers, Andrew Gitchel of Revere, Mass. and John Gitchel of Silverdale, Wash.

      A service will held at Barview Jetty on Sunday, Oct. 9 at 1:15 p.m. with a memorial gathering at the Bay City Art Center following.
