      Claude Snyder

      Claude Snyder, 97, of Charleston died Friday, March 7, 2008, in Charleston. He was born on Jan. 5, 1911, in Eunice, La., to Elmer Claude Snyder and Ida Campbell Snyder. He was a member of the Shaver Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was a coal miner and a farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Lou Snyder.

      Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at Smith Mortuary Chapel with burial of cremains at Oakwood Cemetery in Paris under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston.

      He is survived by his wife, Beverly Snyder of the home; one daughter, Ida Gendreau and her husband, Al Gendreau, of Albuquerque, N.M.; two sons, Elmer Snyder and his wife, Sunny Snyder, of Houston and Robert Snyder of Sugar Land, Texas; three stepsons, Steven Cox, Greg Cox and David Cox, all of Booneville; three grandchildren, Mike Gendreau of Mesa, Ariz., Marie Gendreau of Albuquerque and Jeanne Padilla of Albuquerque; four stepgrandchildren, Ethan, Landon, Kenna and Jessica Cox; and two great-grandchildren, Julian Padilla and Alexandra Padilla of Albuquerque.
