    • Obituary:

Dora Jane Hocutt was born on September 5, 1924 to Floyd and Ada (Parsons) Briggs in Adair, Oklahoma. She went home to be with her Lord on May 3, 2017 in Tulsa at the age of 92 years, 7 months and 28 days.

Dora grew up and attended school in Strang and in 1964 she moved to the Salina area, where she has been a resident most of her life. She raised three sons, Charles, Paul Wayne and Floyd. Her boys were her greatest joy and she was a wonderful mother to them. Her biggest accomplishment in life was her servanthood to Jesus Christ. Dora loved the Lord and her relationship with Christ was evident in her life. Since 2005 she had been a member of Blue Springs Church in Salina and she loved her church family.

Dora enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting and making dolls. She enjoyed spending time with her family and she loved them all dearly. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and she will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

She is survived by two sons, Charles Hocutt and wife Debbie of Salina, Paul Wayne Hocutt and wife Lisa of Claremore; five grandchildren, Travis Hocutt and wife Leslie, Darrell Hocutt and wife Jessica, Ashley Long, Whitney Jane Hocutt and Andrew Hocutt; fourteen great grandchildren and one on the way; one sister Idella McGaughey of Langley; one brother Floyd "Bus" Briggs of Tulsa and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her loving companion Harry Crow, the father of her children Paul Hocutt, one son Floyd Hocutt, granddaughter Lyndsey Long Gaddis, three sisters, Lorene McDaniel, Lillian Large and Leta Coody and one brother Carl Briggs.
