    • Obituary:

Hayes Jackson was born on October 31, 1947 in Houston, Texas. Hayes left us to be with the Lord on July 10, 2015. Hayes was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He had a blended family and loved each person with his whole heart. Family was his number one priority. It would not be unusual to walk into his home any given day and see that he and his wife Janet were hosting family members. Hayes would tell each person how they were his favorite and many even were called his princesses. Hayes' love extended outside the family. Actually his friends are family. Every Thanksgiving he and his wife Janet would host a houseful of people to give thanks and show their love with hospitality and, of course, good food. Halloween was always a favorite holiday full of family, friends, neighbors and, of course, always a "good" witch. It's always good to have your birthday honored. The easiest way to describe Hayes is that when he entered a room or your life you knew you had been blessed. He lights up a room with his wit and smile. A special note about Hayes is that he did occasionally misplace items. Anything from his precious hair brush to his car keys. We will have to leave it at that! Hayes loved horse racing. He dreamed of winning the Ruidosa All American. Hayes had black coffee in his reach at all times. Final Words: I know that if Hayes could address the audience he would thank you for being a part of his life and being here to celebrate it. Hayes leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 16 years Janet Wiley Jackson; sons Phillip and Vince Jackson; daughters Tracy Denham, Jamie Overby, Stephanie Godbey, Christi McKnight and Rita Nisbet, and the apple of his eyes, 27 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents Hayes Phillip Jackson, Sr. and Margie Faye Tomlin, sons Richard Hayes Jackson and Daniel Ray Houton; great-grandson Nathan Phillip Saldana. Pallbearers: grandsons, Brannon Jackson, Bailey Jackson, Bradley Barron, Dakota Olivier, nephew Jimmy James, son-in-law Richard Godbey, beloved friends Frank Ramon and C.W. Stout.
