Notes - Obituary:
L. D. HARRISON
L. D. Harrison, age 73, of Abilene, died Wednesday, August 21, 1991 at a Dallas hospital. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home Chapel, 1443 North Second Street. Woodrow Wilson will officiate. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memoiral Park.
Born April 17, 1918 near Jayton, Texas, he was the son of the late Newman Jackson and Maudie Hagar Harrison. They moved to Abilene when he was a child. He was married to Dorothy C. Franklin October 10, 1935 in Abilene. A veteran of World War II, he served in the Army. He was employed by the Texas Highway Department for eighteen years, the Federal Aviation Administration for twenty-three years, and was employed by Abilene State School at the time of his retirement. He was a member of Oakland Drive Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy C. Harrison of Abilene; one daughter, Mary Sue Yawn of Fort Worth; three sons, Dan Harrison of San Antonio, Dwight F. Harrison of Dallas, and Timothy G. Harrison of Mesquite; two brothers, Lloyd Harrison of Odessa, and N. J. Harrison of Caney, Kansas; fifteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Carl Lee Harrison on October 10, 1985, by a brother, Wayne Harrison and two sisters, Doyle Bernice Farmer and Lavelle Earle.
