    Funeral services for Hattye Daughtry Houston, 85, of 4235 Madera Drive, will be held at 4 p.m. today in the Southside Chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home, with the Rev. W.D. "Step" Martin, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Forest Park West Cemetery.

    Mrs. Houston died at 4:30 a.m. Friday in Willis-Knighton Hospital after a long illness. She was a Grand Cane native and had lived in Shreveport 59 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

    Survivors include three sons, Lester E. Houston of Shreveport, Ottis G. Houston of Greenwood, Miss., and David L. Houston of Walker; a daughter, Elizabeth H. Kelker of Shreveport; a sister, Dovey Russell of Grand Cane; a brother, George Daughtry of Lufkin, Texas; 11 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

    SHREVEPORT - Services for Mr. Lester E. Houston, 69, of Shreveport, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday August 9 at Rose-Neath's Marshall Street Chapel. Dr. N.O. Pugh, pastor of Senior Adults of First Baptist Church of Shreveport, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Charles E. Houston, pastor of Gateway Baptist Church of San Antonio, Texas. Burial will be at Forest Park Cemetery.

    Mr. Houston died Thursday August 7, 1986, at Schumpert Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born in Colquitt, La. and had been a resident of Shreveport most of his life. Mr. Houston was a member of Morningside Baptist Church.

    He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Marceline G. Houston of Shreveport; three sons, Charles E. Houston of San Antonio, Texas, John R. Houston of Marshall, Texas and Gerald R. Houston of Ruston, La.; three step-children, Karen Carpenter of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Roger Slagle of Garland, Texas and Clay Slagle of Shreveport; one sister, Elizabeth H. Kelker of Shreveport; two brothers, Ottis Houston of Pontotoc, Miss. and David Houston of Baton Rouge, La.; and seven grandchildren.

    Ottis Houston, age 91, died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011, at the VA Nursing Home in Oxford. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and a retired engineer. He was a World War II Air Force veteran, where he was involved in the Bataan Death March. He was captured a few days after the bombing of Pearl Harbor and was a prisoner of war for three years, seven months and eight days; he was awarded a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. He was a member of The American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

    Services were at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 5, at Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc with Bro. Johnathan Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Bay Springs Cemetery in Bay Springs.

    Survivors include his two daughters, Linda Houpt (Alan), of Ecru, and Sandra Estes (Warren), of Bay Springs; a son, Johnny Stephens (Rachel), of Mendenhall; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Vester E. Houston and Hattie Daughtry Houston; his wife, Lucy Mae Thornton; and a grandson, Scott Estes.

    Visitation was from 5:30 until 8 p.m. on Thursday and from 9 until 10 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Friendship Baptist Church, 85 Friendship Road, Pontotoc, MS 38863.

    SHREVEPORT, LA - Elizabeth Houston Kelker, 76, of Shreveport, Louisiana, died Monday, April 6, 1998. Born in Sarepta, Louisiana, she was a homemaker and a member of Willow Point Baptist Church in Shreveport. She was a wonderful lady, loving mother, caring grandmother, great grandmother and a friend to many.

    She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kim M. and Jerry Dalrymple of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; a son and daughter-in-law, Pat and Peggy Malmstrom of Roland, Arkansas; two brothers, Ottis Houston of Pontotoc, Mississippi, David Lee Houston and wife, Jean of Walker Louisiana; a sister-in-law, Marce Houston of Shreveport; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, James Kelker; a brother, Lester Houston and a granddaughter, Rosalyn Dalrymple.

    The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 9, 1998 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel, with Rev. Sonny Simpson and Dr. Jack Hazlewood officiating. Interment will be in Forest Park West.

    Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel.

    WALKER, LA - Graveside services for David Lee Houston, 67, will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 22, 1998 at Springville Cemetery, Coushatta, La. with the eulogy performed by Pat Malstrom.

    Mr. Houston died at 8:23 a.m. December 19, 1998 at his residence in Walker, La. He served in the Korean War in the U. S. Marines as a combat veteran. Mr. Houston was a member of Red Oak Baptist Church, a sheetmetal worker for Local 21 and he was known as LG001 on the Louisiana Gators "GB".

    Survivors are his wife, Darmolene "Jean" Ingle Houston; two step-daughters, Jean Liles and Patricia Elkins; daughter-in-law, Faye Flannagan; foster son, Jimmy Mangham; four stepsons, Neal Flannagan, Fred Elkins, Lewis Weber and Bruce Leaym, Jr.; brother, Otis G. Houston; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by his father, Vester Edgar Houston; mother, Hattye Elizabeth Daughtery Houston; step-son, Marshal Flannagan; granddaughter, Diana Flannagan; grandson, Benjamin Neal Flannagan, III; sister, Elizabeth Kelker and brother, Lester Houston.

    Rosalyn Dalrymple, 8, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Dalrymple of Oklahoma City, Okla., died Monday in St. Anthony's Hospital in Oklahoma City after a long illness.

    The Dalrymples are former Shreveport residents. The child was a student at Putnan Heights School in Oklahoma City and a member of the Christian Church.

    Survivors in addition to her parents are grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Dalrymple and Mrs. J. J. Kelker, all of Shreveport.

    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today in the Guardian-Watts Funeral Home Chapel in Oklahoma City. Burial will be in the Resurrection Cemetery there.

    The family requests that any memorial contributions be made to the St. Anthony's Hospital Pediatrics Department in Oklahoma City.
