    Mr. Alfred Crnkovic, 81, died in Noble, La., on October 21,1987.

    Services were held at St. Ann Catholic Church, on October 25, at 11:30 a.m., with Father Gilles Boyer officiating. Burial was at St. Ann Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

    He is survived by three sons, Nick Crnkovic of Houston, Tex., Fred Crnkovic of Bridge City, Tex., and Ricky Crnkovic of Ebarb; two daughters, Louise Pate of Glenmore, and Cheryl Vien of Ebarb; two brothers, Angle Crnkovic of Oak Grove, and Joseph Crnkovic of Zwolle; one sister, Antonio Ozbolt of Birmingham, Al.

    Louise Pate, 93 entered eternal life on Saturday, November 6, 2021, in Alexandria, Louisiana.

    Louise was born in 1928, in Oak Grove, Louisiana to the union of Mary Herlevic Crnkovic and Alphonse Crnkovic. After losing her mother at the age of four, she and her brother Nick lived with their maternal grandmother in Oak Grove until their father remarried. The family then moved to Hemphill, Texas where her brother Fred was born.

    Louise met her future husband, Harold V. Pate in Hemphill. On his return from service in the U.S Navy they married in 1947. They later moved to Nacogdoches, Texas for Harold to pursue a degree in Forestry Management at Stephen F Austin State College.

    Louise pursued her degree in education at SFA until she became a mother to Mary, the first of their five children. After Harold's graduation, they moved back to Hemphill were Harold worked for his father and their family grew with the arrival of two more children, Letitia and David.

    The family moved to Longleaf, Louisiana in 1958 where Harold begin work as the forester for Crowell Lumber Company and they welcomed two more children, Tom and Jean. She was very involved in her children's lives, encouraging them to excel in school. She set a good example by teaching while continuing to pursue her degree and run the household.

    She eventually received her undergraduate degree in education from Louisiana College and began her almost 30 year teaching career; first at Oakdale Elementary and later at Glenmora Elementary School.

    She was a faithful member of St. Louis Catholic Church; teaching weekly Catechism after she retired from public school education. She was very involved in beautifying the community through the Glenmora Garden Club. She maintained her yard beautifully with something blooming in every season.

    She really enjoyed her role as grandmother to her thirteen grandchildren, Casey, Karyn, Trey, Stephanie, Anna, Jennifer, Seth, Steven, Sarah, Emily, Bennett, Callie and Landon as a great grandmother to Isaac, Caroline, Joel, Jonah, Aidan, Chase, Evan, Ruby, Towns, Kennedy, Kate and Graham.

    She is predeceased by her husband, Harold; her parents, Mary and Alphonse; her stepmother, Rena; her brothers in law, Glen Pate and Nick Podhaski; and much loved sisters in law, Pauline Podhaski, Maurgarite Pate, Jane Rawson, Jodie Crnkovic and Jackie Crnkovic. Those left to cherish her memory are her brothers, Nick Crnkovic, of Houston, Texas and Fred Crnkovic, of Bridge City, Texas; her children, Mary Verwyvelt (Bill), Letitia Fresh (Babson), David Pate (Susan), Tom Pate (Leslie), Jean Parker (Don); her thirteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

    The family wishes to thank the staff at Regency House for the care of their mother the last three years.

    A time of visitation will be held at Rush Funeral Home, Glenmora, on Friday, November 12, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

    A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Louise Pate will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2021 in St. Louis Catholic Church, Glenmora with Father Kenneth Obiekwe officiating.

    Pallbearers honored to serve are Seth Parker, Casey Sheriff, Bennett Fresh, Landon Pate, Josh Garmon and Lee Hardy. Honorary pallbearers are Trey Parker and Steven Parker. Interment will follow in Alexandria Memorial Gardens.

    Nick Crnkovic, Sr. was born to Alphonse and Mary Crnkovic on September 10, 1930 in Oak Grove, Louisiana and died on December 21, 2023 at the age of 93. He was married to Jo-Anne Renyolds Crnkovic. He was a beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and brother. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alphonse and Mary Crnkovic; Jo-Anne Renyolds Crnkovic, his wife; and older sister Louise Pate.

    Nick began working while still in high school working several jobs in his hometown of Hemphill Texas including movie projectionist, soda jerk, logging truck driver and working the wheat harvest through Kansas and Colorado. Then after a short stay in the navy he went to Houston. Nick attended college and apprentice school to become a journeyman sheet metal worker. While working for Straus Systems, he worked his way up to field superintendent supervising large commercial projects. After 43 years at Straus he retired in 1995.

    Nick and Jo-Anne married in June of 1952. They resided their entire lives in Houston. They raised 4 children and were very active in the church, in the community. They also traveled throughout the US, Canada, Central America, and Europe. Nick was president of the Civic Club for many years, involved in the Positive Interactive Program (PIP), Houston Citizens Police Academy Alumni, Citizen Patrol, and was appointed to committees and advisory boards for the City of Houston. He received several accolades and awards for his community service from governmental officials. On a more personal level he took up yoga, expanded his hobbies and found delight in making intricate and elaborate wooden toys for his great grandchildren.

    Nick and Jo-Anne celebrated 60 years of marriage before she passed in 2012. They have 4 children: Diane Alleva, Nick Crnkovic, Jr and wife Susan, Kathy McManus and husband Dan, and Leslie Crnkovic. He also has 6 grandchildren: Marie Henry, Daniel McManus, Robert Alleva, Sarah Crnkovic, Gary Alleva, and Mary Crnkovic Lee, as well as 8 great grandchildren.

    Nick is survived by all of his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, his brothers Fred and Rickey Crnkovic, sister Cheryl Crnkovic Vines, and several nieces and nephews.

    Rest in peace, Nick. you will remain in our hearts forever.

    Funeral services for Bradley "Brad" Crnkovic will be at 2 p.m., Friday, July 5, 2019 in the Longleaf Baptist Church with Reverend Josh Tarpley officiating.

    Committal service will follow in the Butter Cemetery under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale.

    "Brad", 36, of Forest Hill, entered eternal rest on Saturday, June 29, 2019, in his residence. He was born October 19, 1982 in Pineville to the union of Marvin Spann and Carla (Odom) Spann.

    He was a painter and dry wall finisher by trade, a loving son, husband, father, brother and friend.

    He is survived by: his wife, Jessica (Carter) Crnkovic of Forest Hill; his father and step-mother, Marvin and Vicki Spann of Oakdale; his mother, Carla Spann of Forest Hill; step-father, Bobby Eaves of Forest Hill; four children, Miranda Jo-Lynn Crnkovic, Trista Leigh-Anne Crnkovic, Gabriel Scott Crnkovic and Carter Jaykob Crnkovic all of Glenmora; 3 brothers, Cody Pearson of Forest Hill, Mark Lewis of Hineston and B. J. Lewis of Texas; two sisters, Bobbie Pearson of Ball and Beth Carter of Glenmora; along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

    Pallbearers to serve will be Jerod Andrus, Marcus Webster, Lane Malone, Mark Lewis, Roy Mancil, Bennie Barber and Daniel Doyle. Honorary pallbearers to serve will be Robert Wayne Gillispie and Cody Bill Pearson.

    Visitation will be held in the Longleaf Baptist Church on Thursday July 4, 2019 from 11 a.m. until time of service Friday at 2 p.m. in the church.
