| 651 | Obituary: Bobbie Dallas Gross September 12, 1930 - February 14, 2012 Bobbie Jean Dallas Gross, 81, of Hemphill, Texas and formerly of Andrews, Texas passed away early Tuesday February 14, 2012 at Sabine County Hospital in Hemphill. Bobbie was born September 12, 1930 in Beeville, Texas to Henry Ervin and Nora Lee Burrell. She moved to Andrews in 1968. She married Roy Dallas December 7, 1968 in Ft Worth. He preceded her in death in 1994. Bobbie was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Andrews and loved being active in her Sunday school class and was very involved in church activities. She was also very active with the Hospital Auxiliary the "Pink Ladies" in Andrews and she loved her time serving with them. She delivered food with "Meals on Wheels" in Andrews. Bobbie was a caregiver and was always looking for an opportunity to help someone. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers; Vernice, Cecil and Herbert Burrell. She is survived by her son, Ronnie Caraway and his wife Betsy of Porto Rico; daughter Connie Neatherlin and husband Harvie of Little Elm, Texas; grandsons Timothy and Benjamin Neatherlin and three great-granddaughters, Emalee, Bailee and Kynslee. He passed from this life on Saturday, February 9, 2019 in Collinsville, Oklahoma at the age of 61 years. Bobby was raised and educated in Collinsville, Oklahoma and graduated with the Collinsville High School Class of 1976. He was married on November 15, 1976 in Claremore to Ina Mae (Hamlin) Howard. Bobby spent most of his working life as an A.S.M.E. welder & steel fabricator, going into business with his brothers Jay and Virgil with Rahm-Fab and eventually opening EconoMasters in Tulsa, Oklahoma with his brother Virgil in 1992. He enjoyed a variety of pastimes such as working his land, hunting and fishing, but most of all he loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. | 656 | Obituary: Bobby G. Jones Bobby G. Jones, 71, passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2007, at home, with his family at his side after battling brain cancer for two years. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, October 15, 2007, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Longview. He was born September 23, 1936, at his home in Longview, and he was a lifelong resident there, having graduated from Longview High School and Kilgore Junior College. After 20 years in research and development at Texas Eastman, he left to start his own business, Bob's Custom Pools. He later expanded his contracting business into Jones Construction Specialties and continued until illness forced his retirement. He was well-known both for his quality of work and for standing behind it. Mr. Jones was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 404, Scottish Rite and Sharon Temple Shrine. He worked on behalf of the Shriner's Hospitals for Children in Shreveport, Louisiana, and Galveston, having organized blood drives and participated in fundraisers. He was preceded in death by his father, Archie I. Jones; mother, Bess Kepler; sister and brother-in-law, Billy and Bill Schultz; and two brothers, Archie Jones Jr. and Clayton Jones. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Ginger Jones; son, Clayton Jones of Longview; daughter, Kasey Dickens and husband, Shane Dickens; grandchildren, Shalyn and Kaylee Dickens, and Cory Jones; nephews and wives, Artie and Donna Schultz of Garland, David and Kim Schultz, and Steve and Cindy Schultz, both of Plano; four great-nephews and great-nieces; and five great-great-nieces. | 657 | Obituary: BOBBY RAY THOMPSON Aulds Funeral Home Shreveport, LA Bobby Ray Thompson went to be with our Lord on May 1, 2008. He passed away in Shreveport, Louisiana with Dora by his side. Bob grew up a mile from Indian Village Methodist Church in Calhoun, LA. He was a typical happy-go-lucky teenager. Playing ball and tossing watermelons with his friends were among his favorite pastimes. Bob was a graduate from Calhoun High School and went on to earn a Master's degree from Northeast Louisiana University. He was a physicist and enjoyed 36 years with the Applied Physics Department at John Hopkins University in Maryland. Bob loved sailing and shared many stories about transporting large sailboats which had been donated to Hopkins. He and Dora have been friends since high school and have been happily married for 3 years. Bob loved his time on their longhorn ranch and laughingly referred to himself as "Dora's hauler," while taking their registered longhorns to sales. Laughing came easy to Bob, he was a "people-person" and enjoyed making friends and spending time with old ones. He even came to love and "adopt" Dora's large orange cat, Al, who Bob renamed Alovicious de la Orange Thompson. Bob was the son of the late Leo and Gladys of Calhoun, LA. He is survived by his wife, Dora Garland Thompson, his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Theresa Thompson, grandchildren, Rebecca and Josh Thompson of Littlestown, PA, sister, Patsy Joiner of West Monroe, LA, brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Flo Thompson of Calhoun, LA, and stepchildren, Jim M. Bice and Nikki Gambrell. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Cherie Berry, Sharon Matthews and Judi Coleman for their help during his illness, as well as friends: Sue Lynn and Kenneth Coon, and Sara Gross for their prayers, calls and support during this time. He passed peacefully on November 26, 2020. Bobby moved to Burleson when he was a year and a half old and grew up with 4 brothers and one sister. The family attended the Burleson Church of Christ. Bobby graduated Burleson High School, attended Abilene Christian College for one year then joined the military. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1960 to 1964. He retired from Union Pacific Railroad after 37 years and owned and operated Bonham Construction. Bobby was married to Diane Smith until her death in 1974. He and Janice Delmere were married in 1975 for 45 years. Bobby was a devoted husband and father to seven children. He was a dedicated Christian and a good example to those who knew him. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley Bonham and Lois Castleman, brothers Farrell and Cecil Bonham, wife Diane Bonham, sisters in law Gayle and Pat Bonham. He is survived by his wife Janice Bonham and 7 children. Monty Bonham (Leigh), Shawna Smetak (Joe), Chris Delmere (Tracy), Lori Coleman (Wylie), Nicole Stevens (Ross), Ronnie Smith and Keith Whatley. | 659 | Obituary: Bohumil Egnac "Bob" Machart April 16, 1939 - May 5, 2023 84 Years Old Bohumil Egnac "Bob" Machart, 84, of Commerce, passed away peacefully at home on May 5, 2023. He was born on April 16, 1939, in Halletsville, Texas, to Bohumil Augustus Machart and Albina Lillian Gallia Machart. Bob grew up in the prairie and farmlands west of Houston. He was raised, along with his eight siblings, by their loving parents, Bohumil and Albina. When he was old enough, Bob joined the Army, where he served as a mechanic with the 2nd tank battalion. He was honorably discharged in June, 1959. With a limited education but a ton of street smarts and work ethic, Bob built a career in the sales and servicing of hydraulic power solutions. In his free time, Bob was an outdoorsman. He loved hunting and fishing. When he could not be in the woods or on the water, you would find him watching a boxing match or a sporting event. Bob was blessed to receive a strong faith in Jesus and love of family from his parents. His brothers and sisters and their families were so special to him. His grandkids and great grandkids meant the world to him. He was a proud father who loved his kids unconditionally. He taught them to love life, to be kind and respectful and to work hard. Bob is preceded in death by his parents Bohumil and Albina and his brother, Butch. Bob will be remembered by all he touched as a most kind-hearted man with an always present sense of humor. He never told others how to live, he lived and let us watch. He asked for little and gave much. He will be dearly missed but we look forward to reuniting with him again one day. The remains will be brought here and interred in Union Cemetery Friday morning. Mrs. Doyle was about 75 years of age and as a native of Bolivar. Mrs. Doyle is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Boles and Mrs. Lucy Jones of Memphis, Mrs. Donnahoe of Birmingham and one brother, James Sheets of Jackson. | 661 | Obituary: BOLT BRINGS INSTANT DEATH TO LEE HAMLIN Friend In Automobile Few Feet Away Unhurt; Funeral Thursday Lee Hamlin, 64, pioneer farmer, was killed instantly by a bolt of lightning at 5:25 p.m. Tuesday as he stepped from a car to direct a visitor back to town. He was killed near his home thirteen miles north of Big Spring. Hamlin had been sitting in the automobile with J.H. Kirkpatrick before he stepped from the car and walked to the front of the car to point out the best route back to the city. "There was a flash and a clap," Kirkpatrick said, "and when I could see again he was lying on the ground in front of the car." Force of the bolt shredded Mr. Hamlin's hat into scores of pieces. His body was badly burned by the electrical discharge. Mr. Kirkpatrick was unhurt. The bolt came from a small thunder head. Born in Missouri more than sixty-four years ago, Hamlin had farmed in this county for more than thirty years. Still very active despite his years, he had been supervising the unloading of posts and wire immediately previous to his death. Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Sarah Hamlin, one daughter, Mrs. Roy McNew, and two sons, Monta and Orbie. Mr. Hamlin also leaves five sisters and one brother. They are R.D. Hamlin of Midland and Mmes. Nora Harrison of Jayton, Will Haynes, Jim Woodie and Jim Crow all of Gorman, and Charles Vandiver of Rogers, N.M. Eight grandchildren survive. Masonic lodge here will be in charge of services at the graveside. Rev. M.J. Wise of the Church of Christ will speak the last rites for Hamlin from the Eberley Funeral Chapel 10 a.m. Thursday. A native and resident of Abbeville Mr. Guidry died at 5:47PM on Sunday, October 30, 2011 at his residence. He loved music and was a member of the band, "Different Parts" which is a nationally acclaimed blues band and have made the billboard charts. He was very patriotic and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the US Army and was honored to serve with his fellow servicemen. He was proud of his family and enjoyed coaching baseball. He is survived by his wife, Laura Dehart; three sons, Isaac, Parker and Elliott; his parents, Lynn and Cherri Dehart; sister, Heather Dehart; nieces, Courtney and Brittany Hensley. Brad was born October 10, 1971 in Hereford, Texas. He graduated from Lamar High School in Arlington, Texas and from the University of North Texas. A long-time teacher, Brad taught at International School of the Americas (ISA) in San Antonio for the last 15 years. He began his teaching career at North Dallas High School in Dallas. In addition to his passion for teaching and mentoring young people, Brad loved music. Brad wrote, played, and sang as a member of the local San Antonio band, "National Standard". He started his musical career with Todd and Ryan Bayless as "The Barnstormers." Brad will be greatly missed by his immediate family, the ISA community, and fans of his music. He started his musical career with Todd and Ryan Bayless as "The Barnstormers." Brad will be greatly missed by his immediate family, the ISA community and fans of his music. They raised three daughters, Courtney, Lauren, and Taylor and one son, Dallas. Brenda was the rock of her family. She was the person who awakened every morning with a smile and full of excitement. She celebrated every occasion for her family to the fullest. Her purpose in life was to love and she had a passion for giving like no other. She was an avid volunteer for many local food pantries and other various charities. She loved to travel all over the world and had a love for Paris that only she understood. She had an extraordinary collection of Nutcrackers that anyone and everyone knew of. She was a music lover and always the first one to hit the dance floor. She will forever be remembered for her infectious smile, big heart and her kind and compassionate spirit. Brenda was preceded in death by her grandparents Elmer Berry, Winford Lindley, Ralph and Lottie Berry. Brenda is survived by her husband, James R. Brenda was also heavily involved in the Emblem Club for many years, serving as State President in 1980-81. Brenda was an inspiration to all who knew her. Even through her pain and illnesses, she was able to laugh and make others laugh. She enjoyed dogs, playing cards, and watching football (especially the Auburn Tigers!). Ms. Koch attended Lubbock Vocational School of Nursing and graduated with a LVN degree in 1976. She retired from Covenant Hospital in 2004 after 18 years of nursing. She lived in Idalou for 27 years before moving to Lubbock in 2002. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who always loved her children and grandchildren. She spent her adult life working in the field of education. She worked as a paraprofessional for Calcasieu Parish Schools for many years and upon early retirement from the system she began working to support educators with the Louisiana Federation of Teachers working tirelessly to help establish the Calcasieu Federation in her area. She retired from the LFT in 2016 after working as a Field Representative for more than 20 years. Brenda enjoyed life and was passionate about her family, especially her grandchildren who called her Meme. She loved dancing, crafting, gardening and traveling, always open for new experiences. She also enjoyed helping the less fortunate and always considered herself to be blessed in life. Throughout her life, she had an artistic streak making various crafts and jewelry. Being an entrepreneur and an excellent sales person, she ran home businesses selling her creations as well as Tupperware and Avon. She and her husband, Emmitt Brisbon (deceased), ran a neighborhood grocery store for several years before she became a member of the American Express mail room team, retiring in 1994. In 2004, she moved to Pittsburgh to live with her daughter, Linda's family. She loved dogs, old movies, Elvis and Frank Sinatra. A celebration of her life will be held in Arizona in May.
